Installation & Help

Everything about your Tosh Dash

Four wires, one Wi-Fi network, a few settings — and you are riding with real data. Tosh Dash has no buttons to press: everything is set up from your phone.

Start here Installation guide Four wires, two settings in VESC Tool, one Wi-Fi network. Step by step with pictures — about ten minutes. Open the guide →

The 30-second version

  1. Connect 5V, GND, TX and RX to your VESC's UART port. TX and RX cross over. Show the wiring
  2. In VESC Tool, set App to Use to UART and the baud rate to 115200.
  3. Power up. The dot in the top-left corner turns green when the VESC answers.
  4. Join the Wi-Fi network TOSH-Setup and open 192.168.4.1.
  5. Enter motor poles, wheel size and battery — tap Save. Done.

1 The four wires

TOSH DASHfour wires VESCUART / COMM port 5VGNDTXRX 5VGNDTXRX RedBlack GreenWhite power from the VESC — 5 V only The two data wires cross: TX → RX and RX → TX

5V and GND go straight across. TX and RX cross over. Swapped them? Nothing breaks — swap back.

2 Two settings in VESC Tool

App Settings → GeneralApp to UseUART
App Settings → UARTBaudrate115200

ADC and UART or PPM and UART work as well, if your throttle runs on ADC or PPM.

Then write the app configuration to the VESC. With the wrong baud rate the wiring can be perfect and the display still gets nothing.
